Paul writes to the church in Rome:
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your whole lives to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (Romans 12:1-2 NLT)
Singing songs is one of the ways we can respond to God. We can sing songs that simply praise God for who He is. We can sing songs that are thankful for His forgiveness, and we can sing songs that declare our need for Jesus to be near. The goal of our music ministry is to provide an environment where anyone can come and easily respond back to God.
Our worship leaders will always be reminding the congregation that, “Jesus must increase and we must decrease.” (John 3:30) It is all about Jesus, and not about us.
If you like to sing or play instruments, contact the office, and we will try to find a place for you to serve.
Praise team singers and instrumentalists lead the congregation in singing primarily contemporary Christian music on Sunday mornings. We give many opportunities to our congregation as well as college students to use their gifts of music with bass, acoustic and electric guitar, drums, banjo and voice, as well as other instruments.
Worship Choir is a “family,” and participates on some Sunday mornings throughout the year. Choir and praise team rehearsals are not only a time of learning music, but also a time of worship, building relationships, and growing in Christ.
