"We Believe in Prayer"…
The prayer request cards in the pews are for you to share prayer requests for Prayer Care. Let us be a people who upholds one another in prayer.

We express  Christian Sympathy to Iola Vander Wilt and Vernon Van Gorp in the death of Iola’s older sister, Gladys Weaver of Newton.

Continue to pray that the mission team in Africa will be used by God to effectively witness and minister to those they come in contact with. Monica Jansen, Wendy Albers, Keith & Cheryl Newendorp, Rachel and Jessica Boertje, Rachel Van Roekel, Jessi Brockway, and Nicole Stafford.

Be in prayer for Travis & Wendy Albers in finalizing of the adoption process of Kolby.

The Ultimate Date Night The Sanctuary invites married couples to enjoy an evening together!  Jay and Laura Laffoon, a professional Christian comedian couple, will be coming to Pella Opera House, Friday, September 24, at 7:00 pm.  The evening is 90 minutes of non-stop music, comedy, and laughter.  The date night is a great encouragement for all married couples.  Enjoy a date with the love of your life.  Purchase your tickets in advance at Gosselink’s Christian Book Store by August 15, 2 tickets-$20; 4 tickets -$36; and after August 15,- $12 and $15 at the door.  Call Gosselink's at 641-628-4911 for additional information or go to  www.thesanctuaryofpella.org .

Prayer Calendar for the Swaziland Africa Team is available at the FRC Happenin’ Headquarters in the lobby. There are specific prayer needs for each day of the mission trip

Keep in touch and up to date with the team that is going to Africa this summer, by reading their blog at journey2swazi.blogspot.com  This will have updates on fundraising and entries about the journey from team members.

Pella Gospel Sing will be Friday, July 30, 3 -9   and Saturday, July 31, 10 -9  at West Market Park in Pella.  Rain location is the Vermeer Global Pavilion

Veggie Tale Extravaganza 2 !  Come and enjoy a night with your favorite Veggie Tale characters and songs on Friday, August 13 at 7:00 pm.  Ice Cream Sundaes will follow! Freewill donation. All ages are welcome to attend.

Pella Gospel Sing will be Friday, July 30, 3-9 pm and Saturday, July 31, 10 am-9 pm.  Enjoy gospel music from many of the Midwest’s finest vocal groups.  Located in West Market Park in Pella.  In case of rain the Sing will be held inside the Vermeer Global Pavilion.  More information can be found on the bulletin board in the lobby.

Church web-site Have you checked it recently?  At frcpella.org you can find the weekly bulletin, the Link, and also listen to past Sunday morning messages.  Many new things will be coming this summer with updates added on a regular basis.

Sister to Sister July Mission is the collection of school supplies for Pella Schools.  Crayons, pencils, notebooks, glue, etc. can be placed in the box in the lobby.

What's Next at Connect@6:05
The Teachings of Jesus: Ancient Words for Modern Times.  We will continue our close look at the teachings of Jesus from the book of Matthew as He teaches about the law. We will discuss the place of rules in the broader scheme of faith and how they should help instead of hinder our living out Christ's love in the world. Come prepared for a lively discussion where we all will dig deeper into God's WORD together. No prior knowledge of the Bible required, just a heart that desires to know God and connect with others.

August Worship Series—Small Groups
August 1—History of Small Groups in the Bible. Pastor Kevin will share the message answering the question, "What is a small group?" from a Biblical framework.
August 8—True Biblical Community
Pastor Ray will be share the message answering the question "What does true Biblical community look like?" with an emphasis on "it's not a me thing, it's a we thing."
August 15—Measurable Spiritual Growth
Pastor Kevin will share the message answering the question "So what's in it for me?" while setting up a Biblical pattern for evaluating one's own spiritual growth after the faith journey's of Peter and/or Paul.
August 22—Warning Dangerous Christian
Pastor Ray will share the message on The Cost of Discipleship and the Power of a Transformed Life, flavored with a missional/outward focus.

Come One, Come All... Annual Church Picnic
12:30 pm, August 8 at the Caldwell Park Shelter. Meat, drinks, table service, condiments, homemade ice cream, toppings, and GAMES will be provided. Basketball and Sand volleyball will be available for the youth. Please bring one or two large dishes or items to share. Feel free to come even if you cannot make something. Packages of chips, cookies, etc. are fine to bring as your donation. Bring your lawn chairs if you want. In case of hard rain or very hot weather it will be held in the church basement. A sign-up sheet is at the FRC Happenin' Headquarters with August 1 as a deadline. Volunteers are needed to make homemade ice cream. If you are willing, please sign the sheet at the FRC Happenin' Headquarters and say how much you can bring. Any questions please contact either Sheryl Steenhoek or Janet Rouwenhorst of the Fellowship Purpose Group. Hope to see you there!

Free End of the Month Meal on Monday, July 26 at the Trinity Reformed Church Fellowship Hall—407 Franklin—Pella. Serving from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. No questions asked & no reservations required. A mission of Trinity Reformed Church.

Lifeline Screening will take place at FRC on Tuesday, August 17.  Pre-registration is required by calling 1-800-324-1851.  More information is available in your mailbox or on the bulletin board in the lobby.

Special Offering TODAY for Habitat for Humanity.  Habitat will build their 30th home in Marion County this year.  This home will be located in Pella.  The 30th house will be one of the first “green” houses built by Habitat.  All Habitat houses are built with the financial support of our local community, which is why we actively fundraise throughout the year.  Habitat homeowners purchase their homes; they are not given homes for free.  Homeowners pay a monthly mortgage to Habitat that is used to help build future houses.  To find out more on how families qualify and general Habitat info, please visit www.hfhmci.org
