What's Next at Connect@6:05 The Teachings of Jesus: Ancient Words for Modern Times.  We will continue our close look at the teachings of Jesus from the book of Matthew as He teaches about the law. We will discuss the place of rules in the broader scheme of faith and how they should help instead of hinder our living out Christ's love in the world. Come prepared for a lively discussion where we all will dig deeper into God's WORD together. No prior knowledge of the Bible required, just a heart that desires to know God and connect with others.

August Worship Series—Small Groups
August 1—History of Small Groups in the Bible. Pastor Kevin will share the message answering the question, "What is a small group?" from a Biblical framework.
August 8—True Biblical Community
Pastor Ray will be share the message answering the question "What does true Biblical community look like?" with an emphasis on "it's not a me thing, it's a we thing."
August 15—Measurable Spiritual Growth
Pastor Kevin will share the message answering the question "So what's in it for me?" while setting up a Biblical pattern for evaluating one's own spiritual growth after the faith journey's of Peter and/or Paul.
August 22—Warning Dangerous Christian
Pastor Ray will share the message on The Cost of Discipleship and the Power of a Transformed Life, flavored with a missional/outward focus.

Come One, Come All... Annual Church Picnic
12:30 pm, August 8 at the Caldwell Park Shelter. Meat, drinks, table service, condiments, homemade ice cream, toppings, and GAMES will be provided. Basketball and Sand volleyball will be available for the youth. Please bring one or two large dishes or items to share. Feel free to come even if you cannot make something. Packages of chips, cookies, etc. are fine to bring as your donation. Bring your lawn chairs if you want. In case of hard rain or very hot weather it will be held in the church basement. A sign-up sheet is at the FRC Happenin' Headquarters with August 1 as a deadline. Volunteers are needed to make homemade ice cream. If you are willing, please sign the sheet at the FRC Happenin' Headquarters and say how much you can bring. Sister to Sister July Mission is the collection of school supplies for Pella Schools.  Crayons, pencils, notebooks, glue, etc. can be placed in the box in the lobby.
